Auditions: The Block 2015

Nine is now searching for contestants for The Block for 2015.

2014-05-26_1310Nine is now searching for contestants for The Block for 2015 which, strictly speaking, is the first indication the show has been renewed. No surprises there.

The second 2014 season, The Block: The Glasshouse is currently filming in Prahran, but if you want to try your reno luck for 2015 here’s what Nine is pitching:

Think you’ve got what it takes to turn rooms with no walls into stunning spaces people would pay millions for?

Do your friends keep saying, “You guys would be great on The Block?”

Do you sit at home on your couch and think, “I could do better than that?”

If you’ve spent nights watching The Block thinking you could plaster a master bedroom like a pro or style a study that would blow the judges away, well here’s your chance to prove it.

Applications for the next season of The Block are now open and we want to hear from you.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking teams of two to participate in Australia’s biggest renovating challenge. So grab your mother, your brother, your partner or your best friend and apply online at www.theblock.com.au

The website indicates the following criteria:

Couples must be aged between 18-65, energetic and with a sense of humour.
First round couples will be reduced to final participants in the first week of filming.
Successful couples must be available for a 10-12 week shoot period in late 2014. Exact dates to be confirmed closer to filming.
Location of The Block is to be confirmed.
You will NOT be able to work during the shoot period.
Previous home renovation experience is an asset, but not required from both partners.
Long term couples, family teams and enduring friendships need only apply.
Submissions accepted from Australia wide.
Successful participants will be paid a nominal weekly fee during filming of The Block to cover basic living costs and expenses.
You must complete all elements of the application, including video, or your application will not be reviewed.
Applications can only be made online. Hardcopy submissions will not be accepted or processed.
McGregor Casting will carefully review applications for consideration of inclusion in The Block. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by September 2014.
Due to the volume of applications, only successful applicants will be notified.

Closing date for entries: 6PM Sunday, July 6th AEST.

One Response

  1. I would like to see is true renovation been shown rather than a misleading drama show due to smart editing for ratings. How do these contestant know where to place walls and how they organise tradespeople. It would be nice to learn something otherwise might as well watch home and away.
