Multichannel Survey: ABC2 / ABC3 / ABC News 24

Unfortunately ABC has not returned the Multichannel Survey for TV Tonight.

2014-05-18_2008Maybe they were too busy with the Budget.

Or maybe they have too many channels to manage.

Either way ABC has not participated in the current Multichannel Survey for TV Tonight.

Unfortunately ABC indicated it did not have time to complete the survey (despite my extending the deadline by several weeks).

It indicated it would revisit this later in the year.

This now concludes the current survey and I hope it has been informative.

Thanks to all who participated.

  1. Someone was naughty… They couldn’t of split the questions up for each channel eg. someone that works for ABC2 answers stuff about ABC2 or the like? Then someone proofreads all the answers. So they are more consistent.

I largely agree with Pertinax in that I don’t care about the identity of a channel but the content. Although I have an extra burden of a phobia against the computer graphics. So sometimes I get excluded against some shows or channels based on the whims of others. Because it is more stressful to watch TV sometimes than some horror films on video/ DVD. And I’m not a horror film fan either so I find them stressful. Fantasy horror excluded.

  2. You’d think they’d have some pre-prepared statements ready to go for whenever someone asks them about their channels.
Perhaps this means they don’t have a clear identities of their multi-channels.

  3. Poor form ABC…ignoring this blog which is widely read…we are not happy…we may not have time to watch your shows…until later in the year….
Agree with Secret Squirrel…maybe shows they do not wish to discuss…
And also with Pertinax…I am in the ‘of no interest’ bracket also.

  4. Geez, it’s not like the ABC had to write a 50 page essay on each channel, it’s a line or two for about 6 questions. Someone at ABC surely could’ve done it on the train ride home from work or something.

I thought the survey was very informative. It’s good to hear that the networks aren’t just exclusively focused on their primary channels, and are giving some thought as to the direction of the multis.

  5. Well, I am surprised that someone couldn’t find half an hour to dash off some answers, or a whole hour to research Q’s regarding first-run titles, etc. Could have gotten a junior to do the research, you know, just like always.

Perhaps they didn’t want to talk about (or not talk about) Jonah and Spicks & Specks.

  6. Is interesting to see what the networks are setting out with to do with their channels. But it is all increasingly irrelevant to me.

I watch the shows I like where or whenever they are on, when I’m in the mood. I’ll sit down watch GOT or Mad Men when I feel like concentrating and immersing myself in a story for an hour. If I feel like vegging out then its Archer, TBBT, Elementary or Royal Pains.

FTA is just a pipe. Its advantages are that the content is covered in the media, there is an online and in TV guide, it’s free and delivers stuff straight to my TV/DVR.

But I am not of any interest to advertisers and thus commercial programmers.
