Foxtel renewed its volatile dramality series ...but just who amongst the cast is returning?

The second series will start filming later this year.

But just who will return given the falling out within the cast? Matchbox Pictures and Foxtel note they will begin “casting discussions shortly.”

Foxtel Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh said: “There is no doubt that The Real Housewives of Melbourne has been a game changer for Foxtel. The incredible reaction to our Housewives, including the blockbuster ratings, the huge social media impact and the overall buzz surrounding the series has meant the decision for another season was a very easy one.

“Our producing partner at Matchbox Pictures produced a captivating series for our subscribers, and we are sure that the second season will be just as must-watch.”

Produced by Matchbox Pictures, part of NBCUniversal International Television Production, The Real Housewives of Melbourne season one was a runaway success for Arena and Foxtel and averaged a consolidated cumulative audience of 428,000 viewers each episode.

The season premiere delivered a final consolidated cumulative average audience of 542,000 viewers – the largest cumulative audience ever for a Foxtel reality program. This figure includes all airings and timeshift viewing of episode one which first screened on Sunday, February 23.

The final and second part of the Reunion featuring Andrea Moss, Chyka Keebaugh, Gina Liano, Jackie Gillies, Janet Roach and Lydia Schiavello will premiere this Sunday, May 11 at 8.30pm on Foxtel’s Arena.

  1. No! Keep them all!! Including the most embarrassing inclusion of Ben Gillies.

I’m #teamgina but if there’s no Andrea and Lydia there’ll be no character to hate.
The showdown between Gina and Andrea was the funniest thing in the series!

Obviously it would be good if they fought about something else next year.

  2. I think Janet and Jackie would be gone

Gina is probably locked down cos shes a firm fan favourite, and Lydia and Andrea bring out the worst in each other (so I’m sure they will survive the cut for the drama)

Chyka… on the fence on her (ironic given her Switzerland stance :P)

  3. If they take out Andrea Moss, the show would be much better. She reminds me of typical schoolyard bully, with Lydia, Janet & Jackie being her little followers. If Andrea went I reckon the others would think for themselves, and we could see a different/better side to them. However with Andrea there, they join her in the bringing down of Gina….event Janet admitted it.

The email was blown way out of proportion. If anything Gina did them favour by making them aware of a possible situation. Her partner would have every right to take legal action for something he did not sign up for.

If you watched the whole season, Andrea mentioned Gina in a nasty way in nearly every scene. Obviously she had nothing better with her life. #teamgina
