Rove, Micallef, Kat Stewart join It’s a Date

Filming is underway on Season Two of Pete Helliar's romantic comedy for ABC.

9shmiRhys Darby, Tasma Walton, Rove McManus, Shaun Micallef, Deborah Mailman, Kat Stewart, Phil Lloyd, Craig McLachlan, Vince Colosimo, Sam Simmons, Jimeoin, Susie Porter, Joel Creasey are all part of the second season of It’s A Date.

Filming is now underway on the 8 part series by Peter Helliar in Melbourne this week.

While ABC isn’t disclosing just who is dating whom, TV Tonight already revealed Lachy Hulme and Magda Szubanski will be an item.

Also returning are Lisa McCune, Lawrence Mooney, Dan Wyllie, Ronnie Chieng, Celia Pacquola, Jess Harris and Emily Taheny.

Peter Helliar says, “We are over the top excited to have started shooting Series 2 of It’s A Date this week for ABC TV. We look forward to bringing more awkward, beautiful, funny, sad dating scenarios; everything from a conjugal visit to the challenges of taking a date to a wedding. We look forward to catching up with some characters from series one and meeting plenty of new folk looking for love, sex, commitment and connection.”

Head of ABC TV Comedy, Rick Kalowski added, “Series 2 of It’s A Date boasts laughs and stars even bigger than Series 1. If you don’t find something to enjoy in this charming new season, you’re either dead, or the host of Media Watch”.

Helliar will be scripting alongside Phil Lloyd, Ryan Shelton, Luke McGregor, Eddie Perfect, Magda Szubanski, Celia Pacquola, Steven Gates and Roz Hammond.

Joining Helliar and Jonathan Brough as Director is At Home with Julia director Erin White.
