Sarah Harris …moments away from Live TV disaster

Video: "Nail Gun Roulette" nearly became everybody's worst nightmare on Studio 10.

A Live TV moment on Studio 10 almost ended in disaster today when Sarah Harris was participating in a stunt with mind-reader Anthony Laye.

Without giving too much away his trick was called “Nail Gun Roulette.” And you don’t need to be a mind-reader to work out what nearly transpired.

It’s sort of funny now. But not really.

One word springs to mind with me: r-e-h-e-a-r-s-a-l.

  1. Given that there’s a WorkSafe ad that was on high rotation a while ago, featuring a lad getting a nail to the eye while not wearing his safety equipment, it seems odd that Sarah wasn’t even given a pair of goggles to wear.

Maybe WorkSafe need to pay Ten a visit…

  2. This mind reader was on a cruise ship that I was on .He does the same few tricks all the time, including this one.
He was also on Australia’s Got Talent doing the same tricks. Sarah was in no danger.

  3. @David Knox
Sorry David, but I totally disagree with ‘r-e-h-e-a-r-s-a-l’ mine is ‘i-r-r-e-s-p-o-n-s-i-b-l-e’

I in fact condemn all those associated with this stupid display during this time slot., especially with the possibility of an unknown number of very young eyes who may have been watching or simply walked into the tv room at the wrong time and by this I do not mean or imply the risk of witnessing an unlikely controlled accident as many of the comments suggest.
“Irresponsible” is about the ‘Act of Pointing’ such a ‘commonly used’ lethal weapon in such an environment ie. ‘person to person’ and many other first responders like myself ( retired many years) will agree, and at risk getting offside with you or your many followers, just try explaining their defending rational to a 5 year old, hopefully before a ‘ defective’ accident.

  4. As others have said, it’s a well-known trick. She wasn’t actually in any danger, altho’ it was odd that the guns were cradled upside-down – poss to avoid them being accidentally charged (with gas not a nail).

  5. Calm down, nobody was in any danger. Just a clever magic trick. I’m guessing there were no nails in any gun and the trick was getting the nails to pop out of the wood

  6. At least if has got some publicity! I watched a little this week and oh……who claps on demand for Jono and those pesky infocommercial? they clap for anything, morning TV is becoming very boring.

  7. Assuming this is in fact real and not concocted for a bit of publicity, then it’s actually an extremely serious situation. Imagine for a moment if it had gone wrong. What the hell kind of safety procedures do Ten have in place to avoid such a thing? Clearly none. A huge worry.

  8. To be fair to her, they were set up facing up on the stand. She just picked it up not knowing different.

They should have been facing down with the handles up on the stand.

  9. A very lame rip-off of a Penn and Teller act.

She’s not really in any danger. The trick is probably done with a hidden safety on the nail guns. You’ll notice he is holding in back of the gun in an odd way when it actually fires nails.
