Not bad for the grass-roots show, in its 8th season on air, from Toombak productions and NITV.
The Footy show with a difference that celebrates and embraces Australia’s diverse multicultural society, and recognises the huge contribution made by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to the AFL will celebrate in style with special guests and supporters joining the show this week.
Derek Kickitt one of the original panelists from The Marngrook radio show will be back to look at some flashbacks and highlights from the shows humble beginnings. Veteran AFL journalist Mike Sheahan will join the panel to discuss where he sees Marngrook in the current football media landscape and the role the show plays in supporting Indigenous players in the competition. Mike has been covering the game since the 1970’s and will share his thoughts on the best Indigenous players of the last four decades. To spice things up AFL commentator and media personality Rex Hunt will also be joining the panel.
As well as Footy News and Tiddas Tips with Leila and Shelley the girls will be crossing throughout the show to the second studio to interview special guests who have been part of the show over the years including Sam Pang, current Marngrook regular and blues defender Andrew Walker, Wilbur Wilde, Collingwood legend Des Tuddenham, and former Blues and Bombers great Glenn Manton.
Marngrook will also feature a montage of messages from the players and Marngrook favourites that can’t be there on the night from Adam Goodes, and Buddy Franklin, to Eddie Betts all wishing the show a happy 200th.
To close the show are the spectacular Bull sisters Vika and Linda performing their classic Hard Love.
