The 16-episode series will premiere on SoHo shortly after its US debut on STARZ (on August 9). It is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Co. and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Based on the novels of Diana Gabaldon, it follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743.

Upon her arrival, she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. But when she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited.

Outlander is filming on location in Scotland, starring Caitriona Balfe as Claire, Sam Heughan as Jamie and Tobias Menzies in the dual role of Claire’s husband Frank Randall and his ancestor Black Jack Randall. The series spans the genres of romance, science fiction, adventure and historical drama.

August 14, Thursdays at 8.30pm on SoHo.

  1. I loved the book Cross Stitch but I’m unsure how it will go as a TV series. Some of the incidences in the book were pretty savage and I wonder how they would transfer that to the screen. Still I will watch it because the story is so compelling.
