MasterChef lifts TEN’s Thursday
Ratings: Without other reality competition MasterChef improves TEN's share, but Nine takes the night.

A double serving of MasterChef proved tasty to TEN last night, as the sole reality offering at 7:30pm. It lifted TEN to a healthy share (although a reader notes TEN slipped up with a promo revealing who was absent from its later Masterclass episode).
But it was Nine that won the night with a share of 28.8% then Seven 25.8%, TEN 21.5%, ABC 18.8% and SBS 5.2%.
Nine News was #1 with 1.23m / 1.17m its best Thursday this year. Next for Nine were ACA (1.02m), Big Bang 888,000 / 784,000, The Footy Show (718,000) and Hot Seat (698,000).
Seven News (1.12m / 1.00m) led for Seven including a healthy lead in Adelaide on a big news day. Next were Home and Away (920,000), Million Dollar Minute (578,000), Bones (533,000 / 417,000), Border Security: International (411,000 in 3 cities). Intelligence was 179,000.
MasterChef was 931,000 / 688,000 for TEN then TEN Eyewitness News (648,000), The Project (612,000 / 417,000) and SVU 428,000.
ABC News (844,000), Call the Midwife (837,000) and The Checkout (787,000) all performed well for ABC1. 7:30 (740,00) and The Men Who Made Us Fat (401,000) followed.
On SBS ONE it was French Food Safari (279,000), Luke Nguyen’s France (253,000), Jonathan Phang’s Gourmet Express (195,000) and a brilliant episode of Fargo (192,000).
ABC2’s Humf (347,000) led multichannels.

Nine News Now: 146,000

I almost never watch Drama’s when they’re actually screened. Because I can never keep up with all the different timeslots and days…. and they’re usually out of order… Or they chuck in random old episodes to confuse you…
I just wait for the DVD most of the time.
I love Bones, but They’ve lost me as a viewer.
I am glad ten has stuck with masterclass it has never been the highest rating episode but i enjoy it they should have made maggie beer a 4th judge

2 hours of Home and Away in Melbourne because there was no home and away last Thursday due to the AFL.
Home and away is best watched 1 episode at a time. At the most 2 episodes in a row is tolerable. Anymore than that it really feels disjointed.
Seven need to do better a scheduling Home and Away. I enjoy the footy but think the AFL could do better on how they fixture games. Not interested in watching footy on Thursday nights and Sunday nights.
Masterclass should to be 8.30 Fridays
And TEN stuffs up by revealing MasterChef elimination in their promo placements, again.

@tvf Network 7’s treatment of all dramas is atrocious. They favour reality for advertising revenue and the no brain required to follow plot lines and decent character development.
Similar fate has affected other overseas and local dramas.

Guess he feels he deserves a break after all those years of being downtrodden….
Two hours was way too much home and away last night.
As expected, the treatment that 7 has given to ‘Bones’ has had an adverse effect on its ratings.
