On Hiatus

Yes folks, it's that time of year again.

Yes folks, it’s that time of year again.

From today TV Tonight enters mid-year Hiatus mode.

This means the site will publish a morning news wrap Monday to Friday.

Big news will still be addressed but  there will be limited posts on weekends.

Please note there will also be delays to Comments, Ratings and Calendar -your patience is appreciated during this time.

But fear not, there are still interviews planned plus features, reviews and more…

As some readers would have noticed there have also been some technical errors recently, including for Comments and tweets (trust me, frustrating at my end too). Things appear to have improved in the last 24 hours -but it’s still a bit early to know if all the kinks are ironed out.  I am continuing to monitor these in the short term and hopefully improving in the long term. I appreciate you patience and thanks to the readers who have kept me informed.

Normal site speed will resume in early July.

Cheers, David.

  1. Thanks so much for all your hard work David, we’ll miss you! This is the first site I read every morning, love it, you’re always up to date with the latest TV news. Have a great break 🙂

I sincerely apologize to yourself and others, if it seems possible hypocrisy on my part, especially after trying to encourage you to have a more decent ‘Claytons Hiatus’ and here I go still contributing and imposing upon you, even if this comment only reaches the moderation stage, but I’m sure you will understand, by knowing of my past comments, when in my usual style I reply in jest to:-
    @ quokka
Unfortunately sheer economics restricts my web access to an average of 65MB/day( eg.inc. combined up/down loading), and should I thank you for a compliment?, re:-” You interweb skills are serious lacking”
Did you define ‘interweb as a jocular put down’ plus my lacking in such skills, actually have the meaning ” Your ‘internet’ skills are not lacking and are proficient”, when I was comically urging David to ‘Take a Bloody Proper Break this time”

  3. Have a lovely break, David.
Thanks so much for your tireless commitment towards putting together this wonderful site each day.
The best telly blog in Aus by far.

  4. As everyone says. When you take a break, take a proper break. We will all still be here to look at news on your site when you come back. You have well and truly established this site as the “go-to” site, so relax. We don’t expect news or that you should have viewer comments while you are away. Close them off for three weeks so you don’t have to be on constant alert to monitor them. Enjoy your break

  5. I echo fellow readers and commenters on hoping you get to rejuvenate and refuel, David. You seem indefatigable with your committment to the site and in providing a peerless blog about all things telly. It is always much appreciated.

David I’ve google’d, wiki’ed and even dug out my old Collins school dictionary, delving into the ‘ medical, musical and medieval ‘ interpretations of ‘ Hiatus’, but can not seem to a find a direct reference of your usual interpretation of ‘ Hiatus’ , the closest I came to your usual interpretation, was that your interpretation is possibly more accurately described in a reference of the word ‘Claytons’, ‘ as in the the drink/break you have when your not are having a drink/break’

So how ever you interpret my comment, and not wanting to put a downer your plans, by suggesting this time possibly please relax and enjoy your usual ‘ Clayton’s Hiatus’ a little more, as all your loyal and sometimes us pesky followers will understand and patiently await your full time return.
