Returning: True Blood

Who will survive and who will expire in True Blood's final season?

2014-06-09_0026True Blood is back for its final season in two week’s time.

Watching who will survive and who will expire (do they ever really?) will be delicious fun this season.

The fate of Bon Temps hangs in the balance as Sookie (Anna Paquin), Bill (Stephen Moyer), Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) & Co. face insidious new threats, and shocking realities, in the seventh and final season of the “fangtastic” HBO hit drama series.

Last season, having barely survived an all-out purge by racist humans led by Louisiana Gov. Burrell (whom Bill gleefully delivered to eternal damnation), the vampires of Bon Temps forged a shaky alliance with their human counterparts, with Bill and Sam (Sam Trammell) who is now the mayor, brokering an ambitious plan by which humans and vampires would pair off in monogamous partnerships. The arrangement was designed to protect humans from rogue vamps infected with
the deadly “Hep-V” virus, while providing personal nourishment to uninfected vampires.

However, in the cliffhanger at the end of Season 6, a gang of Hep-Vamps are about to crash a human-vampire mixer at Bellefleur’s (formerly known as Merlotte’s).

On Monday, June 23 the new season-opening battle between raging Hep-Vamps and their Bon Temps prey sets the stage for a season-long series of hair-raising denouements for Sookie, Bill, Eric, Jason (Ryan Kwanten), Sam, Alcide (Joe Manganiello),Tara (Rutina Wesley) and their human/vampire allies and adversaries.

Some of True Blood’s most beloved figures will meet cruel fates, while others will cheat death (true and otherwise) to forge happily-ever-after relationships that will leave fans surprised and, ultimately, satisfied. What will happen to your favourite True Blood character? To find out, tune in this June for the start of ten-episode countdown to the August 25 finale!
