Well done to Sophie, but I’ll probably give this a miss.
The original French program was just brilliant, and I can’t recommend it enough, but I’m not sure a sanitised US version, with the 8 episode storyline most likely stretched to 24 episodes, would be able to match it.
I bet it shows up on one of our commercial networks with much promotion, hyperbole, and advertising though; while SBS screens the second season of the original to a small dedicated audience.
Will be interesting to see if they are able to capture the almost ethereal atmosphere of the brilliant French original.
Not a fan of American remakes of this genre as they are normally terrible – The Killing has been one exception.
So maybe there is hope for this version of The Returned.
Returned, Resurrection, it’s all getting too confusing lol, the French one was excellent though
Stick with The Returned.
Great news for Sophie. I really hope people don’t just think this is a copy of Resurrection as The Returned is far superior to Resurrection.
