Tight race for Sunday

Ratings: 3 reality shows pull healthy numbers for their networks, as Nine nabs the win.

TVO3_SHOWDOWNS_3-6920Three reality shows continue to pull healthy numbers for their respective networks, a rarity in the Aussie landscape.

The Voice, House Rules and MasterChef Australia all pulled in the vicinity of 1m to 1.5m viewers.

Nine network won -just- at 29.8% share then Seven 29.5%, TEN 19.3%, ABC 16.6% and SBS 4.7%.

The Voice was best for Nine at 1.53m then Nine News (1.41m), 60 Minutes (1.37m), and The Mentalist (637,000). Person of Interest was 351,000 in 4 cities and a second episode was 113,000 in 2 cities.

Seven News was #1 for the night at 1.56m. Next for Seven were House Rules (1.41m), Sunday Night (1.21m), A Place to Call Home (968,000). Mr Selfridge ended with 321,000.

Masterchef Australia rounded out nicely with 1.00m for TEN then Modern Family (614,000 / 560,000), Elementary (564,000) and TEN Eyewitness News (436,000). Graham Norton was 293,000.

ABC1’s best was Grand Designs (944,000) followed by ABC News (812,000), a cutdown version of The Checkout (771,000), Silent Witness (632,000), The Tunnel (462,000) and Compass (433,000).

FIFA World Cup matches led SBS ONE with post match (453,000), live match (397,000), then SBS World News (241,000), Australia’s Secret Heroes (201,000) and a World Cup replay (200,000).

ABC2’s Bananas in Pyjamas led multichannels at 280,000.

  1. I suspect that viewers are tiring from the voice and tuning into MC. House rules is holding well. Just needs more sydney viewers to out rate the voice on sunday nights.

  2. Ah Masterchef – sure it is manipulated, but still preferable to the bitchiness of MKR.
    Marco giving that little pep talk to poor Byron was quite a special moment.
    Anyway, good that Channel 10 are getting better ratings for the franchise this season.
    Could Channel 7 rethink their decision to axe A Place to call Home? I hope they do, it is a quality series, well produced and acted. The ratings would suggest that not only the over 50s are watching it.

  4. Glad to see Masterchef slowly creeping up in the ratings. Great season this year. Hard to pick a favorite as I like so many of the contestants.
