Airdate: Emmy Awards 2014

The Emmy Awards will once again be broadcast Live on FOX8 -this year on a Tuesday.

emmy-awardsThe 66th Primetime Emmy Awards will once again be broadcast Live and exclusively on FOX8 in late August.

This year the Emmys have moved to a Monday night in the US, meaning a Tuesday broadcast in Australia.

This year’s Drama and Comedy Series nominees include three breakout series in their freshman year: Orange Is The New Black (showcase) and Silicon Valley (The Comedy Channel) in the Outstanding Comedy Series category and True Detective (showcase) in the Outstanding Drama Series category.

Worldwide hit Game of Thrones (showcase) was the most nominated program with 19 nominations, followed by Fargo and American Horror Story: Coven with 18 nominations and 17 nominations respectively. Other programs receiving ten or more nominations include Breaking Bad (showcase), The Normal Heart, premiering soon on Foxtel Movies Masterpiece, Saturday Night Live (The Comedy Channel), House of Cards (showcase), Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, Downton Abbey, Orange Is The New Black, Sherlock: His Last Vow, True Detective, Modern Family and The Voice.

This year’s Outstanding Drama Series performer categories (lead and supporting) feature several new yet familiar names who gave critically-acclaimed performances including: Lizzy Caplan in Masters of Sex, Woody Harrelson in True Detective, Lena Headey in Game of Thrones, Matthew McConaughey in True Detective and Jon Voight in Ray Donovan (showcase).

Tuesday August 26 from 10.00am on FOX8.

  1. No live WWE Raw because of an award show? Not to exaggerate, but this is basically the greatest injustice in the history of the world ever.
