2014-07-23_2359Seven has announced The Amazing Race Aus v NZ will begin 8:40pm Monday August 4th.

The show should be following The X Factor, but will compete against House Husbands and Have You Been Paying Attention? -at least we have 3 different genres here, more if you add in public broadcasters.

The Airdate appears to be a week later than originally planned, given Seven had previously stated it would premiere this month. Blame a certain cooking show finale for that switch (but it’s good to see Seven reacting to TEN, rather than the reverse).

  2. Personally I think this is the wrong timeslot for the show its supposed to be a family show but it is over 60mins in length so most families wont be able to stay up and watch it anyway.

    Think a Wed 730 slot would of been better

  3. I wish it was on at 7:30 but 8:30 is what worked for season 1 and that was after no ordinary family(? On name). Now it’s on after Singing Show B’s Monday result show. 7 have quite the line up for Monday.

    @ Ryaneco – I do agree on your point on the shows pacing but generally we have more tasks per leg. For example on a U.S episode you will get 1 Detour + 1 Roadblock with an occasional 3rd very easy task. We generally have 4-5 tasks a leg (Detour, Roadblock, 2-3 other tasks that are as hard as Detours & Roadblocks). So yes, episodes are longer but only because we get more challenges. So it balances out.

  4. I like TARA but I feel it doesn’t belong on Seven. It will air anywhere from 830-910 and finish anywhere from 930-1020, it will run anywhere between 60-100 minutes because Seven fill their shows with so much fluff. TARA is a much better show if it’s rapid fire and all fits into a 60 minute window.

  5. Yes! Can’t wait. Love a bit of amazing race. While I feel that the American’s do it a better than us I think this series with nz vs aus should be pretty good.
