2014-07-24_2344SBS personality Nazeem Hussain (Legally Brown) is featured in Australian Story next Monday along with comedian Aamer Rahman.

This is the second story on the duo, who previously appeared three years ago.

It is introduced by Caroline Jones.

This week’s Australian Story is proof that from little things big things can grow.

Three years ago we told the story of a couple of young comedians who were making a huge impact on the comedy circuit with their provocative satire tackling racism.

Nazeem Hussain and Aamer Rahman achieved critical success around the world with their show Fear Of A Brown Planet.

The pair met ten years ago at anti-racism protests, at fund-raisers for asylum seekers and at organising events to highlight the problems of detention centres. Not especially funny events to herald their status as two of the hottest young comedians in Australia.

But in a short time the two friends from Melbourne achieved what other stand-up comics could only dream of; rave reviews in The Guardian UK, sell-out shows both here and overseas and star roles on television.

Behind-the-scenes though it was a different story. Hussain and Rahman still felt like “industry outsiders” and were becoming battle weary with the constant need to defend their views.

Much to fans dismay, Fear Of A Brown Planet disbanded this year.

But the decision to part company meant each man has been able to play to his strengths.

In ‘Divide and Conquer’ we update their story and discover how Aamer Rahman became an internet sensation when a “tantrum” on stage went viral, making news around the world. Nazeem Hussain has become an Australian television hit with his very own show Legally Brown and recent role on The Full Brazilian.

And sorry ladies, one of the men has even found love; growing up, moving out of the parental home and getting married.

8pm Monday ABC.
