Bumped: The Roast, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

ABC2 is flipping timeslots for Jimmy Fallon and The Roast from August.

2014-07-15_1115ABC2 is flipping its duo of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Roast from Monday 4th August.

The show, which has been airing around 8:15pm following The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, will now air from 7:30pm, directly against 7:30 on ABC (and The Feed on SBS 2) while Jimmy Fallon will air from 7:40pm.

“It’s about time!” says The Roast’s showrunner, Nich Richardson. “Finally, we’ll be competing with the big guys over on ABC1 to see who has our network’s premier current affairs coverage.”

“Our market research shows that taxpayers want more Photoshop jokes at 7:30pm, and Sarah Ferguson just isn’t delivering.

“Who names their current affairs show after a timeslot? Everyone knows that real hard-hitting journalism comes from shows named after ways of preparing chicken.”

“I think Australian viewers deserve their hard-hitting journalism served with a side of graphic, traumatising violence,” said presenter, Tom Glasson.

“And since Sarah Ferguson refuses to be harpooned by Japanese whalers or shot by David Leyonhjelm or set on fire, we’re a natural fit.”

The Roast is currently on repeats during a break and returns at 7.30pm Monday to Friday on ABC2, from Monday 4th August.

  1. thank god! for a number of weeks i kept missing episodes because i forgot about the time change, unless i remembered to catch the later encore. Its so much easier to remember at 7.30 to flick over because i dont want to bother with the ‘reality’ alternatives. They seem to take quite a few breaks though!

  2. I hope The Tonight Show doesn’t go the same way as The Daily Show and The Colbert Report and go back to Pay-TV never to be seen on FTA again…
