Ewan McGregor for True Detective?

Anthology series True Detective is yet to announce its second season cast (in case you’d forgotten Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey were strictly one season only).

Creator Nic Pizzolatto has previously spoken about the various challenges of living up to its stellar first season, versus an established cast simply progressing to a second season.

The Daily Star is now reporting he will meet with Ewan McGregor.

“One of Nic’s favourite actors is Ewan McGregor and that is the quality of actors we are looking at,” a source noted.

“Nic will meet personally with Ewan and we hope to make an official season two cast announcement very soon.”

Brad Pitt has also been linked to the show.
