Seven dominates first half of year, but Nine leads Demos.

Ratings: At the half-way point, Seven is winning in Total People, but Nine is winning in Demos.

In the tally of weeks won the scorecard is pretty stark:

Seven: 14
Nine: 6
TEN: 0

Seven is winning in Total People* share 35.4% to Nine 33.1% with TEN at 19.0%.

But a closer look at Demos* in survey weeks tells another angle:

25-54:
9: 35.1
7: 34.4
10: 22.0

18-49:
9: 35.0

16-39:

Last week there were two big events with State of Origin and House Rules finale, but Nine took the title.

Network:
Nine: 30.0
Seven: 28.8
TEN: 18.3
ABC: 16.8

State of Origin hit 2.05m for Nine, The Voice was 1.31m, Nine News (Sun) was 1.26m and The Voice: Kids was 1.25m.

House Rules: Winner Announced pulled 2.01m for Seven. Seven News (Sun) was 1.32m and Sunday Night was 1.24m.

Masterchef pulled its biggest audience this year at 1.16m on Thursday for TEN. Elsewhere Offspring was 741,000 and Law & Order: SVU was 665,000.

Best for ABC1 was ABC News (Saturday) and 852,000. New Tricks was 830,000 and Father Brown was 810,000.

FIFA World Cup: Netherlands v Argentina scored with 571,000 for SBS ONE. Elsewhere Who Do You Think You Are? pulled 500,000 and Tour de France hit 232,000.

Nine won the key demos 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Nine ranked first on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Seven took Sunday and Friday. ABC bettered TEN on Monday and Saturday.

Seven took Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Nine won Sydney and Brisbane.

  1. New Tricks still pulls respectable numbers…no matter how often it is repeated….and yes…I am one that keeps watching…just love it and pick up on little things I missed before.

  2. Seven will have pulled a bit further ahead of revenue share. They are closing in the younger demographics with new content, while Nine is relying more and more on TBBT repeats.

  3. Hard to believe that just a few years ago ten were clear winners of 16-39 and always competitive in 18-49.

    Considering 7 has a reputation on this site as being the geriatric network, those demo margins are very tight with 9. Perhaps striking distance.
