14 Comments:

  1. I think ten should have got Rove’s team or working dog to come up with something for 730 or 930 – really think there is a lack of quality general entertainment like the panel or rove – interview and good quality music then a good drama at 830

  2. @ Wolfieboy – although Foxtel does have just as many commercials as FTA networks, and there are a lot of repeats (especially during the day), I find primetime content is fairly equal, if not more so, consistent of new or Australian premiere content. In this slow month of TV I have been watching Switched at Birth (FOX8), Chasing Life (FOX8), Alpha House (SoHo), Betas (SoHo), Falling Skies (FOX8), Atlantis (FOX8), Barry’d Treasure (A&E), and The Night Shift (Universal) – and that is a slow month. That is more than the amount of shows I have been watching on FTA. So STV ain’t all doom and gloom.

  3. @mason – Pay TV has mostly old rubbish on it plus their own reality stuff. Wish you luck with trying to enjoy that and pay big dollars on top with commercials LOL.

Watched XFactor & Winners and losers live. Then Commonwealth games on TEN. During the day watched ONE for a few hours for Games stuff.

  4. italianguy1987

as long as x factor keeps rating and is one of the top shows of the night it’s own, it’ll keep getting renewed.

it’s not as if people are tired of reality shows. if 1.1 million is top of the night then that’s good. it doesn’t matter if last year the show was getting 1.7 mill at the same time. if this year 1.1 mill is the top then it’s still a success.

  5. Out of desperation I sampled the Save with Jamie thing on TEN. I know the Brits aren’t exactly cuisine experts, but a whole segment on noodles with an egg, when most Australians know how to open a $1 pack of instant noodles and the spices sachets, and how to fry an egg to toss on top…really…this is not primetime programming. So glad my local library has better TV-DVDs than TEN clearly has.

  6. bettestreep2008

Can’t believe an episode of Midsomers could rate so well. Hasn’t this been screened on ABC at least a dozen times already?

Just shows that some viewers are sick of the reality crap on the other networks.

But seriously – I think I saw this MM episode on ABC about a month ago.

  7. Very disappointing for TEN between 7:30pm and 9:30pm, with the Commonwealth Games at 9:30pm rating in the top 20 but Under the Dome and whatever was on at 7:30pm (was it Jamie’s Meals?) not making it. Definitely a sign that TEN didn’t have enough shows ready post-MC. But on the plus side, good numbers for Family Feud which are very similar to when it was being simulcast on 3 channels (now only simulcast on 2).

  8. Ten, Ten, Ten. Save with Jamie is no successor to Masterchef.

Agree with Jake – can we please see something new on FTA? Enough already with the contrived reality.

  9. jezza the first original one

Comm Games propping up ch10 postMC. They sure need The Bach to fire for them as once the games finish, they are vunerable again. Having said that ABC are looking very weak these days without BBC content

  10. Viewers over reality now after such saturation this year? Seems people aren’t willing to commit to yet another renovation or singing show this year.

Think it highlights people want some variety at 7:30, a bit of comedy, drama, docos and talk to break things up.
