UK cricketer joins TEN’s Big Bash

British cricketer Kevin Pietersen will be part of TEN’s commentary team for select matches in the T20 Big Bash League.
He will join Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Damien Fleming and Mark Waugh after the announcement that he will play with the Melbourne Stars in the 2014-15 Big Bash League season.
In addition to match commentary, he will also wear a microphone on the field and helmet camera while batting.
“I am excited to be heading to Australia for the summer and to be working with Network Ten during the 2014-15 KFC T20 Big Bash League,” he said.
“I am looking forward to the season ahead with the Melbourne Stars and also giving it a crack in the commentary box with Aussie greats Ponting, Gilchrist, Fleming and Waugh.
“The Big Bash atmosphere is good fun and great viewing for cricket fans. I am looking forward to having some fun on and off the field.”

Andy Maher and to a lesser extent Mark Howard were terrible commentators last year! The others were all great, so I hope we hear very little from those two!
Roz Kelly is still engaged to Morne Morkel.She’ll be over here doing the Big Bash as he’ll be busy playing a home Test series in South Africa at the same time.
Well Kev certainly has opinions, so I hope he lets them flow.
What happened to Roz Kelly moving in with her South African fast bowler fiancé. Isn’t that why she left Nine in the first place? Maybe they broke up?

@Shoudy Chen – I disagree, it will be exciting. I reckon some commentators from 9 will probably be worse then him as Channel 9 just don’t stop talking and it gives me a headache but it was a nice change last season

I think Roz Kelly, Mark Howard and Andy Maher are also part of the commentary team. Kevin Pietersen will be on Ten for 2 seasons as he signed with the Stars for 2 years.
