Vic & WA compete in House Rules grand final

House Rules settles on its 2 finalists -but Fango spoils one couple's elimination.

WA (Russell & Carole Bramston) & VIC (Lisa Lamond & Adam Dovile).Victorian couple Adam and Lisa will face off against WA’s Carole and Russell in the House Rules grand final this Sunday night.

The WA team narrowly beat NSW 17 points to 16, in a week-long challenge to make over a holiday home used by Barnardos Australia foster families.

NSW’s Candy and Ryan failed to complete the kitchen, but their games room was described by judge Joe Snell as ” one of the best rooms we’ve ever seen on House Rules.”

The grand final placing by Adam and Lisa is in contrast to when they struggled to perform, finishing last on the scoreboard in previous episodes.

“I said you guys could be the ‘dark horses’ of the competition if you got your vision right and stuck to it. You’ve proved me right,” said judge Wendy Moore.

Lisa said of going head to head with Carole, “I think it would be a little like the Master versus the Apprentice.

“And I think I’ve got it in me to beat her.”

But Seven’s social media app Fango also managed to spoil the episode, by revealing Candy & Ryan’s elimination before it had screened on air.

It soon replaced the Poll with another asking: “Are you a fan of a bed that folds into (the) wall?”

In Sunday’s grand final, teams will return to their opponents’ homes for one last renovation challenge. The judges’ scores will be combined with a public vote to determine the winner.

6:30pm Sunday on Seven.

  1. How does the public vote work? (Didn’t watch last year)…won’t the show be over by the time WA viewers get to see it (and vote)?…Not that I think Carole and Russel should win
