13 Comments:

  1. TOOL get a huge jump in the timeshifted figures usually about 170K, much more than any of the other shows on Thursdays, wouldn’t that suggest its in the wrong timeslot?

  2. WolfieBoy and Italianguy1987, in the 3 states that showed The Block it rated 525,000. In the same 3 states The Bachelor rated 329,000. You should read the figures carefully before making such false statements. Clearly The Block beat The Bachelor (which is not surprising)

  3. Agree with italianguy1987, channel 9 get a good show and then they flog it to death, they obviously don’t have anything else to put on, Friends was run until it was worn out, the same will happen with The Big Bang Theory, as will The Voice/Voice kids both in the same year and The Block twice in a year. Surely viewers will be getting fed up with the same programmes over and over again. Where is channel 9 going?

  4. Maev....Sydney

    I really like TOOL….but even with timeshift figures…not sure they are good enough to sustain another series….especially with ABC’s fund cuts.

  5. @italianguy1987 you can see by the 2 big 0’s that it wasn’t shown in Sydney or Brisbane because the NRL was on. Would be hitting close to 1mil if it wasn’t for that.

  6. Italianguy1987 – The Block was only on in the AFL states, with NRL playing at 7.30 in Brisbane and Sydney. Nine’s figures at 7.30 add up to 1.154 mill, which isn’t too bad on a low rating night.

    I’m thinking 7 must be wishing they had something better up their sleeve than a show about a bear (with a rather tenuous promotional link to Ted the movie) – 4th in its slot. Thursdays continue to be a problem for 7.

    But 9 also doing weird things with programming – in Brisbane, The Block Unlocked has been on Thursday on 9 after the regular episode, Saturday night on 9, and last night at 7.30 on Gem. 3 weeks, 3 different timeslots. Where will it be next week, and is it compelling enough for the punters to go looking if 9 are going to make it so difficult?

  7. Bachelor beating The Block – who would have thought that was possible? Nine need to take The Block back to where it started imho. Viewers are waking up to that silly version on right now.

    Surprised that Britain’s Got Talent did not show up in multi-channel data. It is an excellent show, which we watched live after The Bachelor and The Project.
    @Italian Guy1987 – I agree 100% with you.
    @DanR – we record some shows each night and then when you have some boring nights on FTA TV, we watch the recordings in high quality of our Panasonic Digital HDD recording unit. So no need for dull TV nights really.

  8. italianguy1987

    Is that the real numbers for The Block! Wow i thought it was a #1 rating show.

    Guess people are finally coming to their senses and realising that it’s rubbish and a bad show. Channel 9 is getting greedy with their reality shows and putting them on twice a year as they think they can cash in twice.

    Good numbers for The Bachelor!! I love it and i’m a 27 year old male!!

  9. barrington bumbaclaart

    Good numbers for Catalyst. it’s reassuring to see more people caring about interesting content than mindless reality rubbish.
