Back to Ohio for Glee’s final season

Rachel Berry is headed back to McKinley High to lead the Glee club where she began.

Glee-LeaRyan Murphy has confirmed more details about the final season of Glee.

Originally set for 22 episodes, some weeks ago it was sensibly trimmed to 13 episodes.

The final season will see Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) return to Ohio after a “humiliating failure” as a TV actress, to figure out what she wants to do next. But after discovering that Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) has disbanded the glee club, she decides to lead the troupe herself.

Hollywood Reporter notes Blaine (Darren Criss), Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Will (Matthew Morrison) have all found ‘new and surprising gigs in Ohio,’ while other McKinley High faces will also return.

Michele, Criss, Overstreet, Lynch and Morrison will all return as series regulars and be joined by Chris Colfer (Kurt), Dot-Marie Jones (Coach Beiste), Kevin McHale (Artie) and Amber Riley (Mercedes). Naya Rivera will return with a reduced role. Max Adler also has recurring role reprising his role as Dave Karofsky (there are even rumours of him romantically linked to Blaine).

Co-creator Ryan Murphy has said that he doesn’t currently know what the final scene of the series will be. “I did. I don’t anymore, but I think it will be emotional,” he said.

Original plans, prior to the death of Cory Monteith, were to feature a happy ending for Rachel and Finn.

“The fact that that can’t be is a big pain in all of our hearts.”

  1. The storyline had Michelle as a lead in a broadway musical a minute ago, now she is back to lead the Glee club, wow that makes sense -not. !! Ryan Murphy has had so many other prestigious succsses why does he allow the show that really established him die so badly, it should have ended a year or two ago, only the Americans can drain the orange till its a dead stump.
