Big Bang cast secure big bucks

Big Bang‘s Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco have reportedly agreed to new three-year contracts, following marathon negotiations over the weekend.

Deadline reports the three will land around $1M per episode for the remaining 72 episodes across Seasons 8-10, plus a potential 11th season. The fee is around triple their current $350,000. It puts them into the league of Friends‘ massive $1M per episode deal, although that was back in 2002.

It also notes that ‘complex deals go well beyond per-episode fees and also include larger pieces of the show, signing bonuses, production deals and advances towards the back-end — perks associated with talent deals on shows as big as Big Bang.’

There are also suggestions that previous ownership on the show, rises from 0.25 to more than a point plus wider production deals for ‘TV and features and possibly theater.’

With Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik already having renegotiated their contracts, attention now turns to Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar, with a possibility of new deals being reached today.

If that happens the first table read for Season 8 will take place tomorrow (Thursday AU), enabling the show to meet its September 22nd premiere, but it’s unclear if it will alter the 24 episode production output.

  1. I do enjoy Big Bang Theory but are struggling to enjoy the latest series as the show is being ruined by everyone being in a relationship.

    I wouldn’t have minded if the show hadn’t gone on as it hasn’t really been funny since the introduction of Amy.

    Well they are now getting 1 million and episode here is hoping the show and jokes improve and we get more “big bang” for our buck.

  3. I find BBT annoying and insulting. Just goes for cheap laughs at the Aspergers characteristics of one of the characters.

    I would rather Channel 9 stop showing endless repeats of it and show new shows like Arrow at a decent hour. I’d even watch Arrow on GO!

    Channel 9’s response asking them to show Arrow earlier is “catch up on Jump-in”. My Dad is older and isn’t going to watch on the computer. Ugh! Waiting for the DVD.
