Yesterday the Courier Mail noted that British media watchdog OfCom had received complaints about a “lesbian kiss” on Doctor Who.
Today OfCom has confirmed it received all of 6 complaints about the peck between Silurian Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh) and human wife Jenny Flint (Catrin Stewart).
That’s 6 complaints from 7 million UK viewers.
A spokesman for Ofcom said: “Ofcom can confirm it received six complaints about a kiss broadcast in an episode of Doctor Who on Saturday 23 August.
“Having assessed the complaints, we can confirm that they do not raise issues warranting further investigation. Our rules do not discriminate between scenes involving opposite-sex and same-sex couples.”
As a certain song once told us, “A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh.” Even in sci-fi.

Next thing you know PETA will protest the inhuman treatment of Daleks.
lesbian lizards deserve happiness as well
It wasn’t a kiss they were sharing air….
UK websites were talking about the 6 viewer complaints & OFCOM’s total lack of interest on Friday morning (our time).
Which made the Curious-Snail’s story on Saturday even more of a pointless dig at a non-issue that had been over for 24hrs or more by the time they printed it…
Let it go…….this is not news.
