UKTV to screen Coronation Street & Emmerdale in Australia until 2020
UKTV channel secures a whopping 1,300 new eps of Coronation Street and 260 of Emmerdale.

British soapie fans who aren’t Foxtel subscribers may need to have a re-think after news that the UKTV channel has secured Coronation Street & Emmerdale until 2020.
The deal between BBC Worldwide Aus / NZ and ITV Studios Global Entertainment includes 1,300 new episodes of Coronation Street and 260 episodes of Emmerdale.
Augustus Dulgaro, ITVSGE’s executive VP of sales in Asia Pacific, said: “Coronation Street and Emmerdale are the world’s longest-running soaps, with viewers all over the globe.
“We are delighted to sign this new deal to enable their Australian fans to continue watching them for years to come.”
UKTV already screens Hollyoaks.

Great that you signed these shows until 2020 how about catching up with Emmerdale by screening Double Episodes for a while and why have you taken Doctors Off The Air it is the Best british soap currently being made
As long as they keep airing Hollyoaks I’ll be happy. (If they aired it in HD like they used to I’d be really happy.)
Interesting that Emmerdale airs 6 eps a week in UK but only 5 in Australia. That is why UKTV has only bought 260 new eps as by 2020 we will have 6 years of eps banked up. So much for fast tracking. Shame for Emmerdale fans.
