ANZAC Girls gets US platform

A US subscription streaming channel takes a shine to Aussie-made stories.

2014-09-12_1503US subscription streaming channel Acorn TV will add ABC’s ANZAC Girls to its slate of shows that have previously included Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Jack Irish.

Acorn TV, which offers largely British titles to US and Canadian subscribers, is the first proprietary digital channel from RLJ Entertainment.

Mark Stevens, President for Acorn Brands at RLJ Entertainment, said “Acorn TV’s subscribers love Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, so we’re thrilled to be working with All3Media International to bring another highly anticipated new Australian production to North American audiences.”

In early 2015 it will also release the series on DVD and syndicate it to public television stations in the US.

The Screentime series won an AWGIE Award for adaptation last week and has its final episode this Sunday night on ABC.
