2014-09-29_1120TV legend Denise Drysdale is selling all her possessions to hit the road and head north.

‘Ding Dong’, who most recently appeared on ABC2’s Please Like Me, is having a sale at Neerim South community hall this Saturday and Sunday.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told 3AW, “She’s even selling her home, the property that she’s had for about 40 years or so. Basically she’s going to be homeless, living in her car.

“She’s not in any way cash-strapped – I think Denise has invested pretty well over the years.

“It’s simply just about wanting to become a nomad. No destination, no plan. Nothing is going to stop her.”

The beloved star, 65, later told 3AW, “We tend to hang on to things, but I just want to get rid of everything.

“And you know what? I was driving along the other day and I thought, ‘If anything were to happen to me someone would have to go in and clean it up!'”

But her Gold Logie Awards are not for sale an have been put in storage.

  1. It was a shame that her character on Please Like Me commited sucide as despite her swearing she was brilliant. Denise and Debra Lawrance are talent worthy of induction in the Logies Hall of Fame.

  2. I like the last line of your piece, David. I was starting to think about another nomadic Gold Logie winner before i reached the end of the article. I’d love to see one of the entertainment shows or reality shows feature Denise for a season and then rightfully enter her into the Hall of Fame. She has delighted audiences for 6 decades!
