2014-09-22_0016Former Home and Away star Tessa James has announced she has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

James, 23, who played Nicole Franklin from 2008 – 2011, will undergo chemotherapy for the disease, the same cancer which struck Delta Goodrem at the age of 18. Since then she appeared in Beaconsfield and has been pursuing US opportunities.

The Daily Telegraph has published a statement, jointly released with her husband, rugby league footballer Nate Myles.

“Former Home and Away actor, Tessa James today announced she has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma,” the statement said. “She has returned home to the Gold Coast to be with her husband, Gold Coast Titans Co-captain, Nate Myles”.

“Tessa will be undergoing chemotherapy over the next few months,” the pair said in the statement.

“Tessa and Nate would like to thank all for their well wishes and would ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”

A Seven spokeswoman said, “Tessa is a much valued and loved member of the Home and Away family. She has a wonderful approach to life.

“She has always been health conscious and is full of spirit. She will tackle the next six months with great determination and we wish her all the best for a speedy recovery and send all our love”.

Tessa James also appeared in Neighbours from 2006 – 2007 in the role of Anne Baxter.

  1. I send my prayers out to Tessa James and hope she is able to fight it.
In the early years of Home and Away which airs on 7Two at 9am weekdays baby Dale dies 🙁 across today’s and tomorrow’s episodes.

  2. She was one of the best actresses in Home and Away in recent times in my opinion. I wish her all the best and hope she comes out of it on the other side, like Delta did.
