2014-09-01_1219Family and friends of Joan Rivers are still awaiting good news on the condition of Joan Rivers, 81, currently in an induced coma in a New York hospital.

Her daughter, Melissa, thanked the public for the outpouring of good wishes surrounding her mother’s health.

“Thank you for your continued love and support. We are keeping our fingers crossed,” Melissa Rivers said in a statement.

Rivers, 81, was rushed to a hospital in New York on Thursday after having complications during an outpatient surgery.

LA Times reports a spokeswoman for Mount Sinai Hospital said she had no update on her condition as of midday on Sunday, US time.

The New York Daily News appears to have jumped the gun by reporting she is being brought out of her coma including with some harsh presumptions about how deeply it may have impacted her.

More considered reports are focussing on the official statements from hospital and family and drawing upon the outpouring of support from Hollywood, including Fashion Police pals.

“4 the first time in years I got down on my knees & prayed tonight! I encourage U 2 do the same,” Kelly Osbourne posted on Friday.

Giuliana Rancic said, “Even though Joan’s the strongest woman I know, every single prayer counts. I love you, Joan.”

“Please keep praying for Joan.”
