Original Glee cast members to return

Four of the original Glee cast will reprise their characters during the final 13 episodes.

2014-09-11_2355Four of the original Glee cast members are set to return for the final season.

Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), Jayma Mays (Emma Pillsbury), Mark Salling (Puck) and Dianna Agron (Quinn) will all reprise their characters during the final 13 episodes.

Already confirmed as series regulars are: Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Dot-Marie Jones, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Matthew Morrison, Chord Overstreet and Amber Riley. Max Adler will also reprise his role as Dave Karofsky.

Glee‘s sixth and final season will jump ahead in time, and take place back in Lima, Ohio, as Rachel (Lea Michele) returns to McKinley High to try to salvage New Directions, after her own Hollywood/Broadway career failed.

Original plans by co-creator Ryan Murphy, prior to the death of Cory Monteith, were to feature a happy ending for Rachel and Finn.

“The fact that that can’t be is a big pain in all of our hearts,” he has said.

  1. FOX’s decision to renew Glee for 2 season as it was declining as part of their plan to transition to cable style drama development programme without pilots turned out not to be a good idea. Shifting the focus to New York was struggling in S4 before Fate intervened. There haven’t exactly been many high school shows that managed the transition to university or the workplace settings well.

This is trying to salvage something from wreckage for everybody. This sounds like a decent ending and the short season allows lots of the key cast members to work together again which is good.
