Reality double-dose gives Nine ratings week

Ratings: The Block & Big Brother deliver the Demos, but TEN slips back behind the ABC again.

2014-09-14_2307Nine won last week’s ratings week with its Block / Big Brother double delivering the Demos.

The end of the week was dominated by sports finals in AFL and NRL, including a staggering 57% share for Seven in Adelaide on Saturday night.

But TEN had a disappointing week, slipping behind the ABC and awkwardly relying on three-channel simulcasts to prop up an underperforming schedule.

The Block (Sun: 1.62m) topped the week for Nine. Also strong for Nine were Nine News (Sun: 1.32m), 60 Minutes (1.21m) and Big Brother (Launch: 1.04m).

Seven News (Sun: 1.35m) was best for Seven then The X Factor (Sun: 1.19m) and Sunday Night (1.09m).

Australian Story (869,000) topped ABC’s week followed by ABC News (Sun: 809,000) and ANZAC Girls (784,000).

TEN landed outside the Top 30 this week with The Bachelor (Wed: 740,000), Family Feud (612,000 on 3 x channels) and The Project 7pm (604,000).

Heston’s Great British Food (342,000), Who Do You Think You Are? (317,000) and Destination Flavour Down Under (219,000) led SBS ONE. SBS 2 also got improved shares on Thursday for 102 Minutes that Changed America (160,000) -three times higher than anything else on the channel that night.
