Bachelor speaks to The Project

The Project has a coup with The Bachelor's Blake Garvey and Sam Frost speaking to Carrie Bickmore.

TB2 Ep 20 - Blake Proposes to SamThe Project has a coup on Monday with The Bachelor‘s Blake Garvey and Sam Frost speaking to Carrie Bickmore (don’t you just hate post-show contract clauses?).

It’s not clear if this is a smart move by news boss Peter Meakin or producer Craig Campbell, but it will certainly net plenty of curious viewers -including some who weren’t even invested in the show.

The show also speaks with Asher Keddie and Rodger Corser on Monday ahead of Party Tricks‘ premiere.

Yesterday TEN was in damage control over both The Bachelor and Offspring, amid a flurry of media stories and social media. A question on the latter will surely be used to reiterate the network position.

Other stories next week include:

Dickie Arbiter was the official press officer for Buckingham Palace for 12 years. His career spanned some of the most turbulent times for the monarchy, including the divorce of the future King and the death of Princess Diana. We speak to him about the release of his memoir, On Duty With The Queen.

One of our favourite guests, Rhys Darby, is at the desk to talk about his brand new comedy show, Rhys Darby Live.

We chat to Robert Downey Jr about his latest murder mystery thriller, The Judge.

6.30pm weeknights on TEN.

  1. I love Carrie but The Project interviewing contestants from their own networks show is not asking any hard questions that will damage the Bachelor brand. That just wouldn’t happen. I never watched the show and secretly (until now) feel superior because of it. My wife tells me I’m not. Good to see Aussie success anyway.

  2. @tasthecameraman – I totally agree that it would be hard to find different things to say to everyone. I disliked though when it got to the pointy end and he kept saying things like ‘I’ve never felt this type of connection before’, etc. it really led all the girls on IMO. I understand you have to keep the audience guessing but he did it (or the producers encouraged him) in a very crappy way. By the end I didn’t want any of them to end up with him, they were all too lovely (except Amber!). Laurina is fantastic but I think Blake would bore the pants off her, she needs someone who is as dynamic as she is. Sam is such a fab girl that she will havd guys beating down the door.

  3. I have not seen the ACA in question, but I do not watch Nine live at all. I sometimes record the two shows I like or better still get the DVDs from overseas.
As regards Blake I would find it hard to say different things to 24 gorgeous girls. But in my opinion Blake was probably told by the three women in his life the couple who were on TV and the other one, that Sam was not “the one” for him. If only he wanted to make up his own mind according to his heart and not his head maybe a different girl would have been chosen. But to me Sam or Laurina would have been my pick, but Sam is simply too good, too truthful, and gorgeous and more down to earth than the others. Laurina would make it with Blake they are both go getters, and well Laurina has that star look.

  4. I hope Carrie asks all the hard questions. I think it needs to be done because there are a lot of rumours out there about the show and the pregnant rumour was flying around on friday morning.

  5. Blake was in it for his 15 minutes, very insincere & even worse – incredibly dull! The girls made the show, 10 are missing a golden opportunity by not doing The Bachelorette with Laurina, she’s very popular & forthright. She would be hilarious to watch as the Queen Bee. I don’t know if people are on the show/watch it truly believe they are going to find ‘the one’. From the blogs I read, most of the audience view it as a bit of fun, I hope the contestants do as well. Blake though was cruel & deceptive, badgering the girls to declare love even though he wasn’t going to select them. Was an ego boost for him & humiliated the girls & this is why people have been disgusted by him.
@buggirob – ACA ‘Showing it for what it is’, what – that ‘reality’ shows are not really reality? I don’t understand why people watch ACA with their hard hitting stories about a silly TV…

  6. @buggirob

us folk watch this stuff to take the piss out of the participants and feel superior…….durh!!……oh yeah and Oshers hair….

  7. Good on Ten. I think Carrie will be perfect for the interview.

Can’t believe the talk of conspiracy. Had no-one seen any of the nearly 30 seasons of Bachelor/Bachelorette in the US? Most of the relationships don’t last. Sure, this one was particularly quick, but I doubt it’s the first.

Shame on 9 for stooping so low trying to knock the franchise. ACA called it a scandal and questioned Blake’s motives among other things. Also didn’t mention last year’s couple still being together. If I were Blake I’d be calling a defamation lawyer.
