Dancing beats Big Brother, Recipe to Riches.

Ratings: Tuesday's better performers included Nine News, Dancing with the Stars, The Project and Kitchen Cabinet.

2014-10-22_1001Dancing with the Stars may regret losing Mark Holden from its cast last night after it helped Seven to snatch victory last night -unlike a week ago when Nine won network share.

The show pulled 954,000 viewers and won its timeslot.

Recipe to Riches returned to 561,000, down slightly on its 2014 debut 616,000 (which was also in an 8:30 timeslot). But TEN fared well with The Project while ABC’s political night provided a good alternative.

Seven network share was 28.4% then Nine 26.5%, TEN 21.1%, ABC 19.4% and SBS 4.7%.

Dancing with the Stars won its timeslot with 945,000 for Seven. Next for Seven were Seven News (940,000 / 862,000), Home and Away (865,000), Million Dollar Minute (451,000) and a Seven News Special on Ebola (446,000).

Nine News was the only show to top a million viewers at 1.01m / 880,000 followed by A Current Affair (731,000), Big Brother (621,000), Hot Seat (526,000) and Movie: 21 Jump Street (341,000).

The Project (783,000 / 501,000) again scored for TEN with its Bachelor interview including topping the 18-49 and 25-54 demos. NCIS was 656,000, Recipe to Riches returned to 561,000, TEN Eyewitness News was 549,000 and NCIS: LA was 549,000.

ABC News (768,000) was best for ABC but there were good numbers for Kitchen Cabinet (728,000) and 7:30 (718,000). ABC’s scheduling of Whitlam: The Power and the Passion drew 603,000 / 570,000.

On SBS ONE it was The Sixties (193,000), Insight (175,000), Dateline (134,000) and SBS World News (93,000).

Multichannels drew good crowds last night with 7TWO’s Crash Investigation Unit best on 266,000.

The Morning Show: 152,000 / 101,000
Mornings: 91,000
Studio 10: 60,000 / 38,000

  1. @ nik c ….and I agree also…I do not watch Arrow…but have quit so many shows I would like to watch…because I will not play the ‘chase the program’ game….it just takes all the viewing pleasure away.

  2. Could channel 9 bump Arrow to a multi channel and just start season 2 again? Why bother getting the rights to the show when you’ve treated it like this? Totally appalling. 7 has treated Agents of Shield badly as well.

  3. David what does ‘Studio 10: 60,000 / 38,000’ mean? Does that mean 60k for first hour and 38k for the second or 60 on one multi-channel and 38 on the other at the same time.

  4. Dancing with the Stars is only rating so well because 9 and 10 aren’t providing strong alternatives. Getting Mark for I’m a Celebrity would be a boon.

  5. Nik C – I watch almost no Drama shows as they air any more for exactly that reason. If the networks want the ratings , then give us a little consistency.

They aren’t getting any Ad revenue from me, I either download from itunes or DVD all my drama shows.

  6. I was lucky to have checked my EPG since Arrow did not start until 11:44.

Another show that I will give up, if I can follow it until the end of Season 2.
It has become quite dark and the Wed timeslot last year with Origin interruptions followed by the ridiculous late Tuesday slot on and off with Doubles and singles, makes it a painful experience.
Note to TV stations I am watching less and less TV since you make it a difficult experience!!
