Nine screens 2009 Attenborough series

Nine will screen an Attenborough-narrated series, despite it having aired on ABC.

2014-10-09_0012Nine will screen a David Attenborough-narrated series Life next week in primetime, despite it being produced in 2009.

Life is a ten part BBC series, four years in the making and shot entirely in high definition.

Nine has given it the high-profile timeslot of 7:30pm Wednesdays, keeping Big Brother at 8:40pm.

While it is a premiere series for Nine the series has already aired on ABC. In fact it last aired on ABC in January. Nine knows that’s unlikely to deter its own audience. The show may yet get better ratings on Nine than its ABC broadcast.

“Mammals”
Mammals dominate the planet. They do it through having warm blood and by the care they lavish on their young. Weeks of filming in the bitter Antarctic winter reveal how a mother Weddell seal wears her teeth down keeping open a hole in the ice so she can catch fish for her pup.

7:30pm Wednesday on Nine.

  1. They’ve been promo-ing the crap out of it! Almost every ad break during the block.
It is a beautiful series, probably one of Attenborough’s best, but get it on Bluray and watch it properly.

  2. How interesting, after ABC’s already multiple airings last being a midnight timeslot!
I still haven’t watched it properly though, maybe if they put it on GEM in HD…
