US comedy Hot in Cleveland, starring Betty White, will not continue past its current 6th season.
The gal-pal show, also starring Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick, will end production debuted with 4.8 million US viewers and has since passed the 100-episodes needed for broadcast syndication.
But Deadline reports TV Land network has gradually has been pulling away from older-skewing traditional multi-camera sitcoms in favour of younger, single-camera fare.
“It’s been an honour to work with Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and the incomparable Betty White as well as our executive producers Suzanne Martin, Todd Milliner, Sean Hayes and the rest of our exceptional writers, production team and crew,” said TV Land President Larry W. Jones.
It has previously aired in Australia on the Nine Network.

Best show ever! And yes, implausible storylines drove the comedy of this show and it totally worked…
Terrible show due to low ratings on Nine.
100 eps seems to be the key, I thought that was outdated for syndication? Rules of Engagement ended on its 100th show, Parenthood will end in early 2015 just passing 100.
Yes 6 season is a good run for any show, especially when many other potentially good show struggle through their first season. Just imagine where we would be is they canceled Seinfeld after its first season?
No! Just as Betty White’s career was starting to take off…
Did anybody care after the first season?
Can’t believe it lasted this long. I watched the first half of the first season and the jokes were the same week after week.
I’m not surprised as the storylines have become even more far fetched and and implausible. 6 seasons is still quite an achievement.
This has been a bad week for Sean Hayes first he kills The Millers and now this is ending. Betty White should join Community now I loved her in that.
