2012-12-17_2016Delta Goodrem will reprise her role as Nina Tucker on Neighbours as part of the show’s 30th Anniversary next March.

Goodrem will return for a limited run of three episodes and also take part in a documentary retrospective.

Producer Jason Herbison hinted there is a musical theme to her appearance.

“It’s only natural that music would some how be involved. Having Delta join us for this momentous occasion is the icing on the cake, we are delighted,” said Herbison.

Ian Smith and Anne Charleston will also reprise their roles with more names to be revealed soon.

Goodrem played much-loved character Nina Tucker, whose fictional musical journey mirrored Delta’s own real life rise to chart success. At the height of her popularity, Goodrem released her first single Born To Try from her debut album Innocent Eyes. Innocent Eyes catapulted to number one on the Australian charts. It entered the record books with multiplatinum ARIA Awards including 14 platinum awards, 29 weeks at #1, five #1 singles and selling over four million copies, making her a household name both here and in the UK.

  1. This is a nice surprise.

Obviously Delta doesn’t think she is too good for the show that made her famous.

Don’t think we will see Kylie, Jason, Guy , Craig McLachlan, Natalie Imbruglia or Holly Valance on the show though.

And I am sure Margot Robbie will be too busy with her flourishing Hollywood career to go back either.

  2. Good to hear I still believe that the version of Born To Try she played with no other backing was the best version of the song, before the record producers in my mind stuffed it up.

  3. A lot of the Neighbours pop stars think they’re too good to return. Delta’s amazing! I’m glad she still remembers where it all began for her. I wonder if Jack will return too 😉
