benaudNine’s “Summer of Cricket” begins this week at the Adelaide Oval where Australia play South Africa in the first of the KFC Twenty20 Internationals.

Nine’s commentary team will feature Richie Benaud, Bill Lawry, Ian Chappell, Mark Taylor, Ian Healy, Michael Slater, Shane Warne, James Brayshaw, Brett Lee and Mike Hussey, with Mark Nicholas hosting the coverage.

After the three Twenty20 match-ups, cricket fans will feast on two Carlton Mid ODI Series and the Commonwealth Bank Test Series – and then the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 gets underway. This will then be followed by the broadcast of the 2015 Mid-Year Ashes in England.

Cricket fans will also be able to watch every ball of Channel Nine’s coverage on their phone, tablet or PC with the Cricket Live streaming subscription. The website www.cricket.com.au/live will carry complete highlights of every day’s broadcast plus extended features from The Cricket Show, so fans won’t miss a moment of the action.

The Wide World of Sports social media team will be live tweeting every game and providing exclusive access to what goes on behind the scenes throughout the season.

  1. @matthutchinson10 – Ian Healy is a good wicketkeeper where he holds the records for the most dismissals.
    Not sure whether James Brayshaw will be commentating Boxing Day Test at the MCG or not.

  2. “Summer Of Cricket”? Isn’t that the name of Nine’s cross-promotional vehicle for The Block where the same few promos for shows “coming soon” are played over and over and attempts are made to link healthy sport with battered and fried junk food? Silly me, I thought it had something to do with stumps, fielding and leather on willow.

  3. Enjoying the coverage on fox sports in HD from the crowd less stadiums with decent commentary that isn’t promoting disgusting fried chicken and the block.
