Two Julias are better than one, and tonight Ms. Zemiro takes Ms. Morris back to Gosford for all kinds of childhood memories.

We learn how Julia Morris aspired to a more glam lifestyle beyond the Central Coast -and witness her teen performance singing Holding out for a Hero on New Faces (seriously).

Has anybody thought of pairing these two together to host the Logies? If Tina Fey and Amy Poehler can do the Golden Globes…. just sayin’.

You can take the girl out of Gosford but you can’t take Gosford out of the girl.

It’s a favourite saying of Julia Morris’s and she is testament to this fact. She takes Our Julia on a trip through the NSW Central Coast in a shiny Morris Minor just like the one in which her mother once drove the very same streets.

‘The Julias’ visit Terrigal Beach where the teenage JM doused herself in coconut oil to brown her skin and attract the local surfer boys. They visit the modest home where she spent sessions in front of her bedroom mirror singing into a hairbrush and kidding around with her brother and parents.

Hard work, good manners and a no-whinge attitude were drilled into Julia and her brother, and these values have helped Julia become the much loved comedian/actress she is today. They visit one of Julia’s early classrooms at St Patrick’s in East Gosford where she was, unsurprisingly, a bubbly, enthusiastic student with a ‘pick me’ attitude.

JM earned her performing stripes at the Gosford Musical Society and during a visit to the rehearsal rooms she describes the tough years she spent in London breaking onto the comedy scene. She also reflects on the success that has come to her in more recent years with The Celebrity Apprentice and House Husbands. They then take the Morris Minor for one last spin to St Joseph’s Catholic College where they meet one of Julia’s favourite teachers and make some important announcements on the PA system just as Julia did in her years there.
