  1. If Graham Norton can only attract 350,000 viewers what hope would an inferior local talk show have?
Years ago it was mandatory for any overseas star or former star visiting Oz to appear on the Don Lane show. Unfortunately today they have forgotten how to produce meaningful talk and variety shows and the fact there are still way too many watching reality rubbish, makes it a lost cause.
Who would host such a show, Rove? I shudder to think.

  2. @Markaussie – I am ready, not sure about the other viewers?
If they find the right host it may succeed. Graham is a very special host and the shows format is fast, entertaining and smooth.
Would we have enough top guests available, that is one problem 🙁
Also Ten is still in recovery mode, so not sure if it would roar 😉

  3. @Wolfie Boy “Watched Graham Norton show on 10”

Do you think Australia, is ready for an Australian version of “Graham Norton” on Sunday nites?
A la “Rove” from about a decade ago.
Some good interviews to finish the weekend, before the work week starts?

  4. Ch 7 will stay at number 1 – I am sure because what are they battling against? Ten struggling to make ends meet or Nine that went broke and now has a similar complicated ownership structure like Ten had when I started with them in 1996. Left in 2012. They mostly are saved by The Block, The Voice and BBT. That is not enough to claim number one ever.

Seven is in danger of overcrowding their schedule with sill Reality Style progams however like Ten did years ago. We all know where that led them 🙁

So Seven needs to wake up be4 they go down the path of 10 and 9 Networks. Both are not in a good financial position. Just my five cents worth.

Time Warner looks like joining the bidding to privatise Ten with Foxtel (max 15% allowed at this time if they go for it) with Discovery Channel owners.

I think privatising Ten will take the Share Market pressures away and possibly give them a…

  5. What has happened to Seven? they have gone from being the best network (in my opinion), to now a completely lame duck with terrible scheduling and all of those crappy reality shows – which incidentally look like they will be back next year with MKR already promoted for the new year.

  6. Big Adventure is dead in the water. Even the later start time didn’t help. Perhaps people are fed up with lame reality shows after the surfeit of them in this year’s schedule? I know I am, and I never watch them! 🙂
