2014-11-04_1256If you’re looking to fasttrack yourself into the industry with qualifications this could be one for you.

The Northern Sydney Institute’s Film and Television Faculty has developed a study pathway which allows students to complete two qualifications in just one year.

From Semester One, 2015, the Institute is offering an intensive six month Certificate IV in Screen and Media, leading into the intensive six month Diploma of Screen and Media. This means that students graduate with the necessary skills and qualifications to enter the industry after just 12 months.

Based at St Leonards Campus, the Film and TV Faculty at the Northern Sydney Institute is the longest running Film and TV training organisation in the state and has the only broadcast quality studios in TAFE NSW. All teachers are experienced professionals with production experience and the facilities are aligned to current industry trends.

“We are constantly reviewing and consulting with the industry to ensure that our students train on the latest equipment and gain the relevant skills to be job ready when they graduate,” says Margaret Purcell, Head Teacher, Film and TV.

“Our graduates have a solid foundation in technical and operational skills, giving them exactly what they need to get a start in the industry. They also have a good grounding and understanding of the different production roles, making them better operators and allowing them to progress in their careers quickly. We have great business relationships with the television networks and production companies, with many of our students gaining entry level roles when they graduate.” she said.

The alumni of the Northern Sydney Institute’s Film and TV faculty work in a broad spectrum of roles in the media, nationally and internationally, including award-winning films, documentaries, television programs and online content.

For those already in the industry, the faculty offers a range of short courses such as shooter/producer and AVID edit training.

  1. Hey, I have nothing against it, I defended David and said he was doing a great job in the other sponsored post about the PVR

Keep them coming, I love this site and if this helps David out with finance/additional income, then I’m all for it. He certainly deserves it

  2. MuchoTB, David needs to bring in the Elizabeths somehow to keep this great site going.

All the sponsored posts have been relevant and interesting.

Keep doing a great job, David. I would actually pay money to subscribe because you do provide a product that is not available anywhere else (and not simply a rehash of AAP or Mashable articles like a certain Sydney paper I subscribe to).

  3. @MuchoTB: If this site needs 3 sponsored posts every few weeks to keep this site alive, then let it be.
