New Year’s Eve in Melbourne

Seven screens the Melbourne NYE fireworks live from Docklands.

2014-12-16_1753Seven Melbourne will usher in 2015 with a one hour New Year’s Eve broadcast at 11pm on Wednesday December 31 live from Docklands (presumably it runs a little longer than one hour!).

Seven News weekend sport presenter Sean Sowerby and reporter Emily Angwin will host along with fellow reporters, Nathan Templeton and Jackie Quist.

“It’s been another momentous year and it will be great to see it out in style,” Sowerby said. “We’re going to have some fun.”

Coxy’s Big Break presenters Lee Chan and Rhys Uhlich will be stationed at Melbourne’s hot spots throughout the coverage, providing live updates as revelers prepare for the final countdown.

Molly Meldrum will deliver his trademark annual music wrap on the night, while viewers will see a recap of the year’s biggest news stories and events.

A bevy of Channel 7 stars will share their New Year’s resolutions including Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Dannii Minogue, and Daniel MacPherson alongside the Sunrise team, Seven News presenters Peter Mitchell and Jennifer Keyte and many more.

  1. Melbourne lacks a landmark building or buildings for its fireworks to be of any national or international significance.shooting fireworks off on high rise buildings just dosent cut it anymore looks like any city in the world .thats why Sydney nails it every New Year’s Eve and Melbourne is ignored.
