Airdate: Shark Tank

TEN's new entrepreneur series will pitch itself at viewers on the first night of the ratings season.

2015-01-24_1141TEN’s new Shark Tank series will premiere Sunday, February 8th, the first night of the ratings season.

The US format, an adaptation of Dragon’s Den by Mark Burnett, sees entrepreneurs and inventors pitching to five “self-made multi-millionaires on the hunt for the next big idea”: Janine Allis (Boost Juice), Andrew Banks (Talent2), Steve Baxter (internet pioneer), John McGrath (McGrath Estate Agents) and Naomi Simson (RedBalloon).

As they judge the products and concepts brought to them they will consider whether to invest their own money into the business proposals.

TEN is yet to declare a time for the show, hosted by Sarah Harris, but it is tipped for 8pm following a 90 minute edition of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!

  1. Well I’m guessing they will both be up against the block and mkr? Usually they are both on a Sunday. Not that interested in shark tank but will watch celebrity, at least to see who they are anyway.

  2. I’m not into reality tv but am keen on watching Shark Tank, airing it after I’m a Celeb will give it a bigger lead in audience.I expect it will screen something like 8.07’ish.

  3. I’ve seen lots of Dragons Den series and what you realise is none of the sharks want to give away their money. They shoot down the people asking for investment by saying their product will never work, hence not having to put in a cent. By the end of the series you only ever get a few promises of investment. Some of the Dragons who been known to reneg on their promises or actually not have the funds to follow through. It’s all a con.

  4. With I’m a Celebrity and Shark Tank taking up Sundays to Thursdays, this probably means Ten will be dumping the Neighbours 30th anniversary documentary on a Friday night. I hope not but it looks like it.

  5. Why are they all smiling? They’re sharks, they’re meant to give serious poses.
Also, who are these people? The ads are focusing on the people entering the shark tank. Who cares. We should know who all the sharks are. Which one is the greedy capitalist? Who is the branding expert or marketing maven? Which of them can help build franchises out of these ideas? Who’s the nice one and who is the mean one?

  6. This show doesnt excite me, and I’ve watched all the other major versions of this format. The US is the best version at the moment, followed by the Canadian, then the UK one. At best I expect this version to be a bit better than the current crappy English Series 12 Dragons Den. Willing to be proven wrong but I’ve not seen anything that promising.
