Seven airs Super Bowl XLIX Live when the Seattle Seahawks face the New England Patriots.

2015-01-28_1024On Monday morning Seven airs Super Bowl XLIX Live as defending champions the Seattle Seahawks face the New England Patriots.

Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz will perform at the Half Time show. Idina Menzel will perform the national anthem, and John Legend will perform “America the Beautiful” at Pre-Show.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be looking to add to his extraordinary legacy by winning his fourth Super Bowl championship, placing him alongside NFL great Joe Montana.

The Patriots have been embroiled in allegations of deflating the ball during their Championship win over the Colts, adding to the drama around American football’s biggest day.

The last time they met it was a nail-biter two seasons ago with the Seahawks winning 24-23 and Seattle’s highly lauded defence will need to be at its best to repeat the dose.

Seven’s broadcast will be Live direct from Glendale, Arizona, in the US, with NBC’s Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth leading the commentary and Michele Tafoya reporting from the sidelines.

  1. Yep thank go for Foxtel, just got HD and it is great. Also why can’t the FTAs main channel be in HD, and then put other programing on the other subchannels. Wouldn’t it make more sense.

  2. I don’t watch this. But it’s another example of the Primary FTA channels must screen in HD.It’s a joke. What about Channels 71&72 guys those channels are just sitting their.Do what SBS has done with Channel 30 and convert them over to HD The Tennis would have been a improvement as well if they did something about it.Australia is way behind compared to the rest of the world when it comes to this technology. At least i can view HD on my Foxtel

  3. +1 for the lack of coverage on 7mate. They’ve being promoting “live and hd” all season, only to show the final in SD. Bad move Seven.

When Ten showed the previous few Superbowls, it was live and HD on One, and shown with timezone delays (live Syd/Mel) on Ten. Seven should do the same.

  4. It is also on ESPN for those who want to watch it in HD. Crazy that seven has been showing it in HD on 7 Mate throughout the year and the biggest game of the year they put on Seven in grainy SD. #noidea
