EXCLUSIVE:Â Seven’s My Kitchen Rules returns next week but Nine has now confirmed its intention to return to the food genre with a new format.
Nine’s Director of Programming and Production Andrew Backwell confirmed a recent TV Tonight rumour, saying, “I’m happy to say that Endemol is producing a new food show for Channel Nine. It’s in the late stages of development and will start shooting shortly.
“It’s a ‘stripped’ food format, set in restaurants, and I think it’s a really solid idea.
“I think we were one of the first to get into the food space with The Chopping Block with Matt Moran, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares played very solidly on Nine,” he said.
The format has been whispered about as the “MKR of restaurants” with teams travelling the country to dine in and score each others’ restaurants.
Nine is currently casting the new series.

For crying out loud, show some creativity and come up with something new. A rehash of a rehash- really?
When “Reality Fatigue” is going to happen this year, they announce this – what planet are these TV execs on?
Gee. Another reality show. I really wish I had HBO..
They had to do something – they can’t continue repeating Big Bang and all their other gruesome American sitcoms forever.
I haven’t found a single program on 9 that I like or watch, in years. Apart from Hot Seat and the News. I do love a quiz !
