“This is a major decision for Queenslanders and one which will have the full extent of our resources and expertise,” Mike Dalton, Director of Nine News Queensland, said. “Nine is the only commercial network to present its coverage on a primary channel and we’ll ensure that when results are known our viewers will see it first.”

Starting with Weekend Today live from 6.00am with a special hour dedicated to the latest Queensland news from 9.00am to 10.00am, hosts will cross to Nine News reporters on location in key electorates where constituents will be arriving to cast their vote.

  1. Nine are really qualifying their statement of “the only commercial network to present its coverage on a primary channel”. ABC are also showing it on their primary channel in Qld, bumping the football to ABC2 again, and showing it nationwide on News 24, something Nine are not doing.
