  1. If you assume the cable audience for the soccer was spread across capital cities in the same proportion as FTA (and assign a value to Brisbane) you can see the difference between SYdney and Melbourne for sport. Melbourne had 700k for tennis and 360k for football. Sydney had 485k for tennis and 503k for football.

  2. it looks like The Block is not “rocking us” (to use the stupid song form their stupid ad) and I hope it just fails and falls off the face of the planet.

  3. Asian Cup in Brisbane was on ABC2 so would be recorded different.

@ Matty Harrison, given the massive ratings for the competition I’d say that The Block was a good result

  4. @ Pertinax – the Big Bash Grand Final tonight. Its a sellout in canberra. I want the sixers to win for Brett Lee since there is no Melbourne Team

  5. No Neighbours again what is wrong with people. Also after the elimination on The Block it will pick up be interesting to see how it goes tonight now no aussies are in the aus open anymore.

  6. The Asian Cup was shown in Brisbane at 7pm.
Must not have been coded the same so it didn’t group with the other states.

Australia was supposed to finish first in its group and play in the first semi-final on Australia Day and no Australian has made it that far in the tennis for a decade.

Still the Block rated 2nd for the younger demographics behind Kyrgios’s match. Tonight no major sporting fixtures, and next week we get to see how MKR, The Block and I’m A Celebrity… go against each other.

  7. Matty Harrison

Everyone seems to be hailing the launch of The Block as a success across multiple sites.
This is a major tent pole program shown twice a year for Nine and for a launch to be rating under 900k that was streamed across three channels is terrible!
I’m thinking The Block needs to take a lesson from Masterchef. The format is losing ground and fast.

  8. thedirtydigger

Maybe we’ll see Triple replays of Triple Threat…the luck of the draw I guess…Nine obviously hoping no Aussies left in the Open when that was programmed…I’m tipping Saturday night re-play of the Block…considering what it was up against not too bad.
