Seven premieres its new docu-drama Australia: The Story of Us next Sunday night, narrated by Richard Roxburgh.
This is the local version of America: The Story of Us which aired on the History Channel in the USA.
“Working on the series has been quite an eye-opener for me. I’d always thought I was pretty well-versed in Australian history, but it’s exposed many deficits in that knowledge. Exploring the strands of our story in this way has left me both startled and proud of our dangerous, tragic, brave, hilarious and bizarre history,” said Roxburgh.
Australia: The Story of Us is an extraordinary journey through the people, places and events that have shaped our nation from the first footprints on our continent to the present day. Astounding visual sequences, amazing CGI and dramatic re-enactments bring these stories to life and show how we came to be the country we are today.
Australia: The Story of Us features interviews with important thinkers, notable celebrities and iconic national figures who take us inside the stories that have influenced our history, including Associate Professor Charlie Teo, Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith VC MG, Professor Tim Flannery, Reverend Tim Costello, Adam Goodes, Dick Smith, Andrew O’Keefe, Ian Thorpe, Molly Meldrum, Bindi Irwin, Layne Beachley, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Rebecca Gibney, Guy Sebastian, Dannii Minogue and Chris Bath.
8:30pm Sunday on Seven.

I saw the American version of this show on SBS which was amazing. Judging by the promos it should be a hit.
