  1. At first I was like what is this show about..but when it came on air it was actually entertaining didn’t mind it will be watching again, good to see something different again by Ten, much better than a show where comedians trying to be funny.

  2. Very positive comments on Twitter tonight with most people commenting that they were surprised how funny it was. Trending at number one. I found most of the families a bit dull and they tended to be too aware of the cameras.

  3. I really enjoyed it. I went in with a low bar of expectation and was pleasantly surprised.

The challenge will be if the Goggleboxers will ham up to the camera next week or be their natural selves. The Producers will hope the latter…

  4. I didn’t think it was half as bad as I expected it to be. But its not something I’d be watching every week, I doubt it will be a rating magnet for channel 10 either.

It’s pretty good free promotion for shows on other networks though, e.g MKR and that show about giving birth on sbs lol. I suspect that it will show the reaction to some of the higher rating programs from other networks. And I can guarantee that they will be filming the reaction to some of these renewed Foxtel series, like the Real Housewives of Melbourne and Wentworth.

  5. I watched it alone as my husband was at work and daughter was out, but I’m hoping they love it like I did, as I’d love it to be regular Wednesday night viewing. I thought the families/groups were engaging. They certainly are not all white, as another commenter stated, and from a pretty broad range of society, although there were no absolute bogans, one couple comes close!
I’ll definitely watch again, and I hope for 10’s sake that it’s also a hit tonight.
P.S. Love Joel Creasy in IACGMOOH, he’s no cheap Josh!

  6. David, is the episode on channel 10 (the next night) the exact same one from foxtel so that FTA viewers can see it, or is it another episode entirely?

I doubt channel 10 would show them watching MKR when it’s a rival program, on at the same time as IACGMOOH.

    1. Exactly the same. And yes that’s a first for Aussie TV. The episode even claimed MKR was Australia’s “favourite Reality show” and given current ratings you would be hard pressed to argue against that.

  7. I loved it and as a fan of the original UK version was very pleased that it lived up to the same standard. The best segment for me was the one born every minute show (although I doubt the whole of Australia is talking about a show on sbs) the shows from foxtel were clearly put there for sponsorship reasons as only selling houses is a top rating show. All comments were spot on and no one seemed to play up to the cameras. The male nurse and his 6 kids were least entertaining. Great show

  8. Oh, the line I laughed at the most wasn’t even listed. During the airing of ‘Teen Moms’ when the elderly lady said something like “They’ll all be on drugs by the age of 15, just like that Lindy Lohan”.

  9. From the promos it appears everyone is drinking alcohol and everyone is white.

And as for the nasty comments about Joel Creasey – he is one of the main reasons I am watching IACGMOOH. He’s an absolute scream and is heading for bigger and better things.

Ten could have some real ratings winners this year but they keep stuffing everything up.

Once again the real problems are in the big offices at Ten headquarters.

  10. To quote one of the people it was indeed boring as batshit. Why it is an hour long is beyond me. The only time I laughed was at the discount Josh Thomas line. I wonder if Ten will edit the bit where they were dissing I’m a Celeb.

  11. Such a let down! The UK version is great, very funny and somewhat clever.

The Aus version tried so hard to hit middle Australia it was as subtle as a hammer to the head. Humour missing, segments of TV shown, not conducive to funny dialogue from the “cast”.

Just not well produced at all and this was one I was sincerely hoping would turn out better.

Maybe the production and the cast will ease into their roles…
