Corey Worthington & Leila McKinnon reunite

Seven years after their awkward TV interview, interviewer and party boy bury the hatchet.

2015-02-13_0003One of Australia’s most infamous TV interview moments was revisited last night when A Current Affair’s Leila McKinnon spoke to ‘party boy’ Corey Worthington 7 years after she first told him to take off his yellow sunglasses.

Worthington, who was just 16 years old when his suburban party made international headlines, is now 23 and contacted ACA to promote his new business venture and show he had grown up.

“Take a good long hard look at yourself,” McKinnon told him back in 2008.

Able to laugh at his teeny attitude, he told McKinnon it was a crazy time in 2008, but it had also brought opportunity and money -including management by Max Markson and casting in TEN’s Big Brother series.

“It was yeah a big enjoyment, I sort of just took the ride and just enjoyed it really.”

His new project, ironically titled Not Sorry Entertainment, is just getting off the ground.

It was amusing seeing McKinnon (who hasn’t changed a bit) and Worthington face to face 7 years later, the ACA presenter couldn’t resist another dig at his appearance.

“Are you happy with those tattoos,” she asked.

“But couldn’t you have got them somewhere….. less prison?”

  1. ACA must have been desperate for content this week, it was bad enough that the media catapulted this teen to celebrity status 7 years ago but now they have to bring him back into the headlines to help him promote a new business venture, surely there are others more worthy of Promotion.
